Sprague PTO Update

Dear Sprague Community,

Ah, October! The leaves are turning, the apples have fallen, crisp fall air is blowing in, and parents are fully into Crush Season. Crush Season? No, I'm not referring to crushing grapes to make wine occurring right now in Napa, although wine is very complementary to our season. Crush Season is when we parents desperately make lunches before breakfast, frantically search for that library book that is due, prod our kids about unfinished homework and simply getting dressed (why is that considered a chore?), jam a full day's worth of book bags and sports gear into our cars before racing to make it to school before the whistle blows. The best part? Crush Season transitions right into Holiday Season, which is right around the corner! (Sorry, did that make you spill your coffee)

As a reminder, we may be stressed and harried by everything going on, but please drive cautiously through the parking lot.

Picture Day was a bit wet this year, but through the efforts of many parents it was a success. Thank-you Julie Knudson for orchestrating everything and thank-you to all the volunteers who helped make sure our little ones exhibited their best side. The teachers truly appreciated all the help from Becca Cahaly, Joanne Hinchley, Suzanne Fletcher, DD Marcoux, Sara Joseph, Jessamy Harrington, Kathy Severson, Christine Choate, Jacque Stathis, Ana Alexander, Karyn DeVito, and Jen Bowers.

On Wednesday at 9:00a in the cafeteria, the PTO will have its next board meeting. Topics on the agenda include preparations for Cookie Walk, Treasurer's update and the Principal's update. We will also discuss potential topics for parent discussions throughout the year. If you have any suggestions of topics you would like to hear about, please send me an email.

The next Walk-to-School is also scheduled for Wednesday. If you would like to help our young students sign themselves in and choose a footie, please email Lizzie Murillo.

Warm Regards,

Matthew McKay
Sprague PTO President
