Please bring in book donations by Friday, April 12th.  Bring them to the front lobby labeled box or to the Talent Show.  We are accepting gently used or better condition:
  • Children's Books
  • Hardcover or Trade (larger size) Paperbacks of Adult Fiction and Nonfiction
  • Coffee Table Picture Books, Art Books, Cookbooks, History, Religion
  • Current Textbooks or Classic Literature
  • Audio Books (CD or Cassette)
  • DVD's, Blue Ray, Video Games, Music CD's
Please no missing pages, extreme writing on books, periodicals, music cassettes or poor condition items.  Contact Mason Smith or Yolanda Tong for more info.

MoreThan Words (MTW) is a nonprofit social enterprise that empowers youth who are in the foster care system, court involved, homeless, or out of school to take charge of their lives by taking charge of a business. By working as a team to manage their own retail and online used book business, cafe, and community space, youth develop the employment skills, leadership, and self-confidence they need to successfully transition to adulthood.

Look for more details on the Wellesley Food Pantry Collection after April vacation.

MCBA Breakfast Kudos & New Photo

The 2012-2013 Massachusetts Children’s Book Award program (MCBA) culminated in our annual voting party on March 15th. A hearty thanks once again to the members of the PTO for their generous financial assistance, and to Jennett Murphy and the many parents who volunteered to create a memorable cafĂ© experience! I’d like to acknowledge the students who put in an extra effort to read books and write reviews:

WPS: New on-line payment system for bus and other fees

March 21, 2013

Dear Parents/Guardians:

I am pleased to announce that we will be using a new, on-line payment system for our annual bus transportation registration this year.  If you have ever used the Wellesley Recreation Department’s on-line registration and fee payment system, RecTrac, you will find similar features in our system.  We have purchased the same software and have adapted it for the School Department’s specific programs.  You will be able to complete the required registration information on-line and also pay the deposit and fee balance through a secure portal.  In addition, once you have registered your student, we will be able to send communications to you electronically regarding your registration status, links to the bus routes and other transportation related updates.  This system will accept MasterCard, Visa and Discover credit cards.  While the Business Office will still accept paper registration forms and payment by check, we urge you to use this fast, convenient, paperless, and secure program.  It is more efficient and green!

Watch for additional information and instructions over the next couple of weeks.  Registering and paying on-line for transportation will begin on Monday, April 8, 2013.   And stay tuned for access to register and pay on-line for sports (including the “Gold Form”!), activity fees, instrumental lessons, Preschool tuitions, and most other fee-based school programs.

Sincerely,

Judith Belliveau
