Around Town

KidSAFE is coming to Wellesley in May for 3rd and 4th grade students!
KidSAFE is a program that focuses on personal safety, bullying, peer pressure, and stranger danger. This course teaches elementary aged children to call attention to threatening situations, distinguish between safe and unsafe adults, physically and verbally protect themselves, and report potential danger to a safe adult. In a safe supportive environment, students learn to stay calm and focused while practicing effective communication and appropriate safety making decisions in realistic situations that range from intimidating to dangerous.
Children will practice self-defense skills in realistic scenarios with an instructor playing the role of an assailant.  They will get opportunities to practice physically and verbally defending themselves.
Impact Boston instructors will provide this unique opportunity to Wellesley youth in grades 3 and 4!
Cost: Free (must be a Wellesley resident or attend Wellesley Public Schools to participate), this program is being sponsored by the Wellesley Youth Commission
