WEF UPDATE – THE SEASON OF GIVING
The WEF Spelling Bee was a huge success; we raised $48,000 thanks to the community’s generosity!  Thanks also to all of you who sponsored or joined a team, or came to cheer on everyone!

We turn our thoughts now to our Annual Appeal, which funds approximately half of the grants awarded to WPS throughout the year.  As we move into the holiday season of giving, please consider a tax-deductible gift to WEF; your contribution will ultimately brighten the experience of many children in our schools.  Please donate now to WEF’s Annual Appeal.

New this season of giving:  consider donating appreciated securities to WEF!  Generally, a donation of appreciated securities is calculated by the value of the shares on the date of the donation, with no realization of capital gains (some exceptions apply; consult your tax or financial advisor to discuss your particular situation). Click here to download the stock donation form, which you can send to your financial advisor to effect the transfer.

Our fall grant cycle has completed, and we will soon announce a number of exciting grants, so stay tuned!   WEF grants are only possible due to overwhelming support from the community and businesses.  Thank you for making such a difference in our schools!  The Wellesley Science and Technology Expo is one example of exciting programs coming from WEF.  WSTE Launch event:  Wellesley Free Library, Wakelin Room,Thursday Nov 21, 7:30-9 pm. --  coffee, dessert and conversation about STEM in Wellesley.  All are invited!
