PTO Volunteer Opportunities - Social!

During the month of May we will continue to highlight a few PTO-managed programs offering volunteer opportunities. Many PTO positions have been filled for next year (Thank-you to everyone who has stepped already!), but we would love to have as many people involved as possible. 

By volunteering you will contribute to your child's Sprague experience, learn about activities occurring in Sprague, and make some new friends in the community.

This week we highlight the Social program. 

Each year the PTO strives to bring the Sprague community together through various social events, including welcome picnics, grade level parent socials, and evening socials at local restaurants. These events are primarily designed to encourage community involvement and strengthen our relationships to one another.

The Social Chair position is filled and now we are looking for people who want to help organize specific events, such as hosting a grade level social in the fall, administering the kindergarten/ new family social at Sprague just before school starts, or identifying local businesses willing to host Sprague events.

Next year we would love to have a father organize a few Dad focused events. During this past Fall, "Dads for Donuts" at the Book Fair was a huge success and there have been several mother focused events this year that were well attended.

The administration of most of these events is relatively light. Generally it requires gathering a few volunteers, helping to set-up and clean-up, and overseeing the event itself.
